After months of going through (and sometimes back through) all the things we (David would say especially Linda) have collected over the years; there were many trips to the dump, donation sites, and metal recyclers. David was very excited to get $7 at the metal recycler for the gas barbecue that should have long since been discarded. Each week we anxiously waited for the garbage/recycle to be picked up so we could fill the bins again the same day. We delivered family keepsakes to other family members, sold things on Facebook Marketplace & Craigslist, gave some things away, and then had a very successful moving sale. We also filled a storage unit with some of the items we just weren't sure we could part with. Oh, and not to forget, the travel trailer is still TOO full so the downsizing continues.
GREAT BIG THANKS TO OUR GOOD FRIENDS THAT SO GENEROUSLY GAVE OF THEIR TIME & ENERGY (and bought things too): Pam Kinaman, Paula Evansen Barnett, Rick & Martha Debnam, Jean Basic & Kerril Kent-Grunke!
The Salem real property market is HOT and Kerril was our realtor. We took off for the weekend to Yachats on the Oregon Coast. Kerril scheduled 24 individual appointments with potential buyers that were preapproved for the sale price or above. By Monday evening, we had six written offers over the asking price. The sale closed and we were out of the house May 12!
We spent the next couple of weeks continuing to go through things, organize the trailer, and visit with as many friends as we could before leaving to stay at with Christi & Jim Daniken (Linda's sister) on May 27.
SO excited to be able to keep up with your adventures (or misadventures)! What a great way to document your travels. Can't wait for your next installment! XOXOXO
